Thank you for using Yardd. This Privacy Policy explains how Litewhite Limited trading as Yardd collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the Yardd platform.
Your privacy matters to us and we only collect the data we need to run the marketplace safely and effectively.
By creating an account or using Yardd you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree you must not use Yardd.

Litewhite Limited is the data controller for the personal data collected through Yardd.
If you are a practitioner you may also act as an independent data controller for the customer data you receive.

We collect different types of data depending on how you use Yardd.
a) Information you provide to us
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Password (encrypted)
- Profile information
- Business details if you are a practitioner
- Insurance and qualification details (practitioners only)
- Messages you send through Yardd
- Reviews you write
b) Booking information
- Services booked
- Times, dates and locations of bookings
- Communication between users
- Cancellation and refund details
c) Payment data
Payments are processed by our secure third party provider. We do not store your full card details.
We may receive:
- confirmation of a successful payment
- payout information for practitioners
- partial card information such as the last four digits
- chargeback notifications
d) Technical and usage data
- IP address
- Device type
- Browser information
- Pages viewed
- Actions performed on the platform
We use this to keep Yardd running smoothly and securely.
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- to create and manage your Yardd account
- to allow customers and practitioners to book services
- to process payments and payouts
- to communicate booking updates
- to provide customer support
- to send important information about changes to our services or Terms
- to improve the platform and fix issues
- to detect and prevent fraud or misuse

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.

Customers’ relevant booking information is shared with practitioners so they can provide the service.

Practitioners’ profile details and any information they choose to display are visible to customers.

We share necessary booking and identification data with our payment processor to handle payments, fraud checks and payouts.
d) Service providers
Trusted companies that help us operate Yardd such as hosting, email, security and analytics services.
e) Legal authorities
If required by law or to protect the rights, safety or integrity of Yardd or another person.
We never sell your data.
6. Practitioner responsibilities as data controllers
If you are a practitioner you receive customer data when a booking is made. You must:
- use it only for managing bookings
- store it securely
- delete it when no longer necessary unless required to keep it
- comply with UK data protection law
Practitioners act as independent data controllers for the data they hold.
7. Data retention
We keep your personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
Typical retention periods include:
- Account data: while your account is active
- Booking records: up to seven years for tax and accounting compliance
- Messages: retained to support dispute resolution
- Practitioner insurance and qualification records: while listed on Yardd
If you close your account we delete or anonymise your personal data unless we must keep it for legal, security or fraud prevention reasons.
8. Cookies
Yardd uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- keep you signed in
- improve site performance
- ensure security
- understand how the platform is used
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the platform to work.
